Product Manager Data Intern
Chocolate Finance
CHOCOLATE FINANCEMAR 2025 — APR 2025Chocolate Finance was my first internship, and the hard part was that I had never worked with real data. I had no experience querying company data in a SaaS tool like Snowflake Notebooks, or using Python and Pandas to pull insights out of what came back.
The main piece was a Streamlit dashboard showing transaction profitability across more than 200 merchant category codes. It improved how merchant categories were selected and helped maximize interchange fee revenue.
I also looked into customer churn. I pulled the data from Snowflake with SQL, then did exploratory analysis in Python with Pandas, NumPy and Matplotlib, segmenting customers and charting trends to support targeted retention strategies.
I relayed what I found on merchant category spend and churn to the CPO for decision making. That taught me to turn charts and analysis into actions that fit the company's context, because data is no use if people can't act on it.
I also learned to work with software in an enterprise managed environment, which meant following proper access controls and protocols, handling customer data, and using the company's approved tools. Presenting to the C-suite and other staff was where I took my first steps toward speaking clearly and confidently, and that carried into my second internship at Razer.
